I was always interested in computers growing up. We were lucky enough to have one in our house in the 80's and I grew very fond of it, doing things like keeping an electronic diary, using Print Shop to make cards and banners and learning to use Microsoft Word.

In grade school and high school I really enjoyed my computer classes and did very well. While others were struggling, I floated on by...I had already learned most of what we were being taught at home on my own computer.

In 1997, I headed to college undeclared and decided to take Computer Science 101 as an elective. It was an intro class taught using C++. I caught on very quickly and absolutely loved it. I spent the majority of the semester having fun building programs and helping classmates with their programs. I even got a job as a Computer Lab Monitor and spent almost every minute perfecting my programs. I learned and taught myself more in that class that any subsequent classes I ever took. It was a great foundation to build my fondness for computer programming.

Education
I graduated from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA in 2003 with a B.S. in Computer Information Systems. Currently I am employed at the best Domain Registrar and Web Service Provider to Small Businesses, Network Solutions.

I began working there in 2005 and have been moving throughout the company ever since. It was through Network Solutions that I was finally able to begin living my dream of becoming a Web Site Designer.

Career
After spending 2 years learning html and web design techniques by building my own family website, I felt confident enough to try building websites for other people.

I decided a great place to start was within my family. My Uncle Jeff didn't have a website for his company yet, so I offered to build him one for his vending company. It came out nice and he was very pleased. Soon enough my boyfriend wanted to start a little business for himself, and of course I offered to put up a site for him about his Pool Services. Then I negotiated building one for my friend so she could begin an online business for herself.

I plan to gain more clients as my skills develop, and eventually hope to find a position as a full time web designer or even run a business from my own home.
